Although there are some concepts that could be broadly apply, there are no “one size fits all” solutions. Every lesson learnt can feed specific experience across a huge panel of topics to be explore among participant´s projects and best practices.

The Challenge is as recommend Saskia Stevens “to urbanize technologies that deurbanize the city”.

We tailor our consulting mission after an initial local assessment of your city particular needs, issues, and priorities. We usually focus on no more than three key topics agreed with your organization and stakeholders.

We then include, at least, two local experts/relevant stakeholders chosen by your organization, to join our team of experts during the sessions.

Our workshops´s content splits on 40% about the core concepts on SCP and 60% related to specific and locally defined key issues about mobility, energy management, cyber security, farming monitoring, disaster risk reduction, etc.

As part of thematic discussions, we will include “soft-infrastructure” solutions, that are the flagship of “Bottom-Up” strategies and take advantage of local know-how

Thematic Clusters

A smart city plan should start with people and for people, therefore we recognize technology as an interface that facilitates the design, management, operation and update of the networked infrastructure. But a smart city is more than a high-tech city. People are at the forefront of city change. How change could drive population from smart city planned to better city.  The principles of sustainability, quality, equity and rapidity are main pillars for smart city planning.

Three main thematic clusters could be considered:

  • Natural Resources & Energy                    The Hardware

  • Built Environment                                     The Software

  • Society & Skills                                          The User

Within each thematic cluster, we will focus on:

  • Data & Knowledge Management              The Hardware

  • Project Management                                 The Software

  • Governance                                                The User Platform

Experiences from both developing and developed countries provide a better perspective of references and its correlation with cultural, socio-economic, environmental and technological gaps and opportunities.
